Welcome

What is S.W.A.T.?

The acronym S.W.A.T. stands for Spark Worldwide Ambassador Team. It is an organization dedicated to working behind-the-scenes to better the Spark game and Spark community, by way of our multi-purpose goal:

To create and encourage the creation of additional content for the game of Spark (i.e. maps, patches, sites, etc.)

To train players in Spark game tactics, to help increase the overall skill level of the Spark community as a whole.

To train players in the traditions of Spark game etiquette, for the purpose of promoting courtesy and unity among the members of the Spark community.

To assist in the creation and moderation of Spark leagues and tournaments, to foster a more competitive spirit among the Spark community.

To advertise the game of Spark on other forums, websites, and other media, both virtual, and in real life.

Well, fall of 2009 has rolled around, and we are working hard on getting all of our articles completed. We've also started on some video tutorials for the newer players in Spark, to help them get acquainted with the basics of the game! A rough video sample is below:

This video was made by our newest S.W.A.T. Officer, PitchblackItai, also a member of the Mercenaries clan on Spark! When you see PBItai in Spark, show him some love!

I've now rolled S.W.A.T. over to PHP as well as Spark Realm, and I must say, I have grown a considerable amount of love for PHP in a very short time! I'm looking forward to the changes that can now be made in the upcoming months as the S.W.A.T. website is built out and new and exciting content is added in!

S.W.A.T. and its officers greatly appreciate your continued support through donations! Your donations are going directly towards the required funding for hosting for this website and other Spark Network websites! Thanks very much!

We ask everyone who has an interest in this website to please donate! If you can't afford to donate money, try this: Donate publicity by linking to our articles when helping other Sparkers! Donate helpful tutorials on how to create maps or patches! Donate advice on how to play Spark better! The S.W.A.T. website will only be as good as the Spark Community makes it! Lend a hand!

Over the last month, I've considerably expanded the site in terms of content, including the sections on creating maps, creating patches, adding new content, and all sorts of tips and instructions for both newbs and advanced Spark players. Hopefully you can find stuff you wanna read that helps you out, either to better yourself in terms of playing, or to better show you how to create new Spark content. If you have anything to add to any part of this site, get in touch with my by email or drop me a line on AIM!

Remember, if you or your friends want to learn how to create new maps and patches, learn how to play Spark on a more advanced level, or hook up with a tutor to fine-tune your skills in a personalized way, S.W.A.T. can help you do it all! Feel free to drop by any time, and don't forget to bookmark us at http://swat.spark-realm.net!

The S.W.A.T. website is now up, though not fully functional.

This site will be set up with three basic categories. The first, Creating Content, will be a haven for tutorials on how to create Spark maps, Spark patches, Spark websites, and in general, any and every kind of content that can be imagined for Spark. The Playing Spark section will be like a guidebook to bettering your Spark-playing skills, from tightening your spreads to correcting your dodging patterns, and nipping bad habits in the bud before they harden into reflexes.

The third section will be a volunteer Tutoring Program, in which more advanced players can hook up with newer ones and teach them new things. Though a better way to do it might seem to be just asking in the lobby, this section of the S.W.A.T. will be dedicated for Spark Players looking to help others or get help. The Tutoring Program will have tools which will make coming here much more useful than just asking random people in the lobby for help.

When the S.W.A.T. website starts getting used, you can expect the overall skill level of the community as a whole to increase noticeably, and new maps and patches to arrive with increasingly more regularity, and with noticeably better workmanship. If you're as excited about this as I am, then make sure to give your friends the link to http://swat.spark-realm.net! :)
